Bitter and Earthy

Purchased this on a whim. It's not my favourite of the Horin series. I prefer the amber-like sweetness of Shirakawa, the watery evocation of Avenue Of The Villa, and the spicy scent of Horakawa. Genroku is definitely an earthier scent, and on the bitter side, for lack of a better word. I think it may be a fragrance that has to grow on me.

Very nice & relaxing blend

Reminds me a lot of a milder version of Misho. Very similar with a little less of the agarwood 'bite'. Overall very nice blend that has come to be expected from the masters at Shoyeido.
