Kneaded Incense

Our kneaded incenses, traditionally used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony, represent another style of old-world incense preparation. Fine natural aromatic ingredients are blended together, kneaded into soft round pieces, and stored away so that their scent can mature and deepen. The incense that emerges from this process exudes an astonishing fragrance that must be experienced to be understood. As with wood chips, kneaded incense is intended to be heated with charcoal, rather than burned.
